Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB), a state-owned Swedish mining company and the largest iron ore producer in Europe, reported that its iron ore output totaled 6.7 million tons in the fourth quarter of 2021, dropping by 1.5% compared to the same period a year ago, mainly due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic on factory production.
During the period, LKAB’s iron ore shipment had a year-on-year reduction of nearly 3% to 6.8 million tons, of which pellets accounted for 78% of the total shipment.
In 2021, LKAB's iron ore output was 26.7 million tons, down by 1.5% year on year; the iron ore shipment was 27 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.3%.
