1.4 million Dutch families
have installed smart lighting. According to a smart home usage survey conducted
by market research agency Multiscope on 6,300 Dutch residents, according to
data from Smart Home Monitor, this accounts for approximately 17% of all
households in the Netherlands, compared with 13% in 2018.
To date, Philips
Hue is the most popular smart lighting brand among Dutch residents, and 47% of
smart lighting users own the brand. IKEA ranks second with the more affordable
Tradfri lamp, followed by KlikAanKlikUit, Osram and Innr.
The average Dutch household spends 223 euros on smart lighting,
which means that the total installed smart lighting in Dutch homes amounts to
300 million euros. According to the researchers, this will only increase
because 12% of consumers plan to purchase smart lights within a year. The main
reason for switching to smart lighting is convenience and cost savings.
