According to the Ministry of
Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), the direct employment situation of Peru’s
mining industry has improved. The employment rate of this industry reached the
pre-COVID levels, the same as the level in the first quarter of 2020.
In January, there were around 201,400 job opportunities in Peru’s mining
industry, which was 1.5% higher than the previous month.
Most of the employment opportunities were concentrated in regions of Arequipa,
Ancash, and Moquegua, said MINEM.
