Mineral Resources Limited (MRL), an Australian mining services and processing company, announced that it has produced the first batch of iron ore at the Wonmunna iron ore project.

The project is located in Western Australia. Its annual production capacity was planned to be increased to 5 million tons in June this year. If additional funding approval is successfully obtained, its production can be expanded to 10 million tons per year.

The iron ore from the project will be used to strengthen MRL's Utah Point Hub iron ore blend.

The Wonmunna project created 500 jobs in the area and will help increase the company's sales to 14 million tons per year by end of 2021.
