BHP Billiton (BHP) has released its production and sales report for the first quarter of 2021.

In terms of production, the Pilbara operations produced 66.7 million tonnes of iron ore in the first quarter of 2021, down by 5% month on month and 2% year over year.

BHP's total iron ore sales in the first quarter were 66.03 million tons, down by 7% month on month and 4% year over year. Among them, the sales volume of powder ore was around 42.9 million tons, and that of block ore was around 15.6 million tons.

In the current quarterly statement, BHP said its FY2021 target iron ore guidance of 276-286 million tons remained unchanged.
