Recently, 101 special street lamps on Shangxiang Road, Chatang Road and other streets in Shangcheng District were lit up, announcing that the first pilot project of mass transformation of LED energy storage street lamps in China was officially launched in Hangzhou, contributing innovative strength to carbon neutrality in the field of urban lighting.

These new street lamps integrate cutting-edge technologies such as intelligent energy storage, dynamic dimming, and emergency support, illuminating the night of Hangzhou while exploring the future path of low-carbon lighting.

According to the relevant person in charge of the Urban Appearance and Landscape Development Center of the Hangzhou Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, this batch of energy storage street lamps follows the smart operation strategy of "low-peak charging + peak discharge". During the low-power consumption period from 23:00 to 7:00 the next day, the street lamps automatically turn on the charging mode and store the electricity in a special battery; when the power supply is tight during the morning peak, they switch to energy storage power supply, effectively realizing "peak shaving and valley filling". According to professional calculations, this mode can reduce regional lighting energy consumption by 30%, reduce carbon emissions by more than 100 tons throughout the year, and achieve significant energy-saving and carbon-reduction effects.

Not only that, the project engineer compared the street lamps to "smart energy housekeepers". Its background management system uses AI algorithms to track the fluctuations of Hangzhou's time-of-use electricity prices in real time. Just like a shrewd trader, the system will start the energy storage mode in advance before the electricity price goes up to ensure that the charged energy comes from the low electricity price period, thereby optimizing energy costs to the maximum extent.

This batch of newly installed street lamps also has the function of "emergency power bank". In the face of emergencies such as extreme weather, they can quickly activate the reserve power supply to ensure at least 8 hours of continuous lighting. The technicians revealed that more than 20 emergency plans are pre-stored in the system, and they can respond calmly regardless of whether it is the plum rain season or the cold wave weather, just like equipping the street lamps with a dedicated "disaster prevention guide".

It is worth mentioning that each street lamp is equipped with a "health bracelet" that can send back key data such as temperature and voltage in real time. Once a street lamp fails, the large screen in the background can immediately and accurately locate the "lesion", making the maintenance response speed 3 times faster than the traditional method.
