The US and the EU are currently having a talk regarding the steel and aluminum tariffs issue imposed during the Trump era and seeking a way to resolve the dispute by the end of 2021.

Stavros Lambrinidis, the Ambassador of the EU to the US, said that overcapacity of steel is injuring the EU and the US, so the EU aimed to end the US’ steel and aluminum tariffs by the end of this year.

At the US-Europe summit last week, both sides agreed with a truce of their near 17-year dispute on aircraft subsidies for five years, indicating their willingness to actively improve the trade relations.
