This 341-meter-long section of road is a must-go for most residents of Baijia Village, Zhangyan Town, Jinshan District. However, due to a long-standing lack of streetlights, visibility is poor at night, posing a significant safety hazard, especially in rainy and foggy weather.

Reporters observed at the construction site that a row of brand-new streetlights had been installed, with workers busy arranging the wiring in preparation for the final lighting switch-on.

Villager Mr. Wu said, "On rainy and foggy days, visibility is extremely low, making it difficult for pedestrians or vehicles to detect each other in advance, posing a significant safety hazard." Another villager, Mr. Zhu, also lamented, "This road used to be completely dark, making it unsafe for both pedestrians and vehicles, with frequent collisions at night. Now that the streetlights are installed, everyone is very happy."

To ensure the safety of villagers traveling at night, multiple departments in Zhangyan Town conducted in-depth research and officially launched the streetlight installation project on March 15th of this year. A total of eight streetlights will be installed under the project, and over 300 households are expected to benefit.

Wang Yong, Deputy General Manager of Zhangyan Town Construction Development Co., Ltd., said, "Once the streetlights are operational, we will incorporate them into the village-level streetlight maintenance plan and conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure the safety of villagers."
