According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), in the week ending on April 4, 2026, the production of US raw steel totaled 1.831 million net tons, a 1.6% increase from the previous week and an 8.2% rise compared to the same period in 2025. The capacity utilization rate for the week reached 79.1%, up from 77.9% a week ago and 75.6% year on year.
As of the week ending on April 4, 2026, the adjusted year-to-date production of US raw steel has amounted to 24.028 million net tons, rising by 5.2% compared to the prior-year level of 22.835 million net tons. The year-to-date capacity utilization rate is 77.4%, an increase from the 76.1% recorded during the same period last year.
