According to the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), US domestic raw steel production reached 1.842 million net tons for the week ending June 27, 2026, operating at a 79.8% capability utilization rate. This volume reflected a 2.8% increase compared to the 1.792 million net tons recorded during the corresponding period in 2025, when the utilization rate was also at 79.8%.

Weekly output decreased slightly by 0.5% from the preceding week ending June 20, 2026, which registered 1.851 million net tons and an 80.2% capability utilization rate.

Adjusted year-to-date production through June 27, 2026, totaled 46.237 million net tons, maintaining a 78.7% capability utilization rate. This total showed a 6.0% hike over the 43.620 million net tons manufactured during the same period last year, when capability utilization was at 76.8%.
