According to Vale S.A. (Vale), a Brazilian multinational corporation engaged in metals and mining, it has decommissioned the Fernandinho dam at the Abóboras mine in the Vargem Grande complex, but the regulatory agency hasn’t approved the works.

Besides, the relevant construction works of Forquilhas I, II, III, IV, and Grupo dams have also been completed.

Vale said that a total of six dams have been completely deactivated.
