According to the final Census Bureau data from the US Department of Commerce (USDOC), the US imported around 114,100 tons of steel coils in June, increasing by 12.6% compared to the previous month and also rising by 119% from the same month a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Canada accounted for the largest proportion, totaling roughly 66,000 tons, a month-on-month increase of 7.5% and a year-on-year surge of 125.3%. Other import sources included Turkey (around 15,000 tons), the Netherlands (around 9,200 tons), South Korea (around 7,000 tons), and Japan (around 6,700 tons).
During the period, the import value was nearly US$122 million, up by 14.4% month on month and soaring by 283.3% year on year.
