According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), the crude steel output from 64 countries and regions counted in statistics amounted to 161.7 million tons, rising by 3.3% compared to the same month a year ago.
During the reporting period, the output in Africa was 1.3 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 36.9%; that in Asia and Oceania was around 116 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 2.5%; that in the EU’s 27 countries was 13 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 30.3%; that in the Middle East was 3.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; that in North America was 10.2 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 36%; that in South America was 3.8 million tons, a year-on-year growth of 19.6%.
