According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, China's scrap imports totaled around 93,000 tons in July this year, hiking by 15% compared to the previous month and surging by 3404% from the same period a year ago.
Among them, the imports from Japan accounted for the largest proportion, totaling around 70,440 tons, a month-on-month increase of 7.8% and a year-on-year surge of 8256.9%. South Korea ranked second with roughly 14,800 tons, followed by Taiwan’s 3,700 tons, up by 51.7% and 320.98% month on month, respectively.
