Liberty Steel Group announced on September 23 that it planned to restructure its Belgian steel plants, Liberty Liege’s Flemalle and Tilleur plants.
Liberty might close one of two steel galvanizing lines and might lay off 153 employees, and they are having negotiations with unions. However, Liberty did not confirm those details.
Liberty expected restructuring project has no impact on the Liberty Dudelange site in Luxembourg and Liberty Liege-Dudelange customers for those will continue to be served as normal.
Liberty’s site was expected to be operational at 35%-40% caused by the restructuring plan.
