Valdis Dombrovskis, European Commission Executive Vice President, said in a speech on September 27 that he was cautiously optimistic about resolving the steel and aluminum tariff dispute between the US and the EU.

The EU trade chief also said that the EU hoped the US to work with the EU to reform the World Trade Organization (WTO) instead of letting it decline due to neglect.
