Vedanta, a natural resources company in India, reported that its iron ore production amounted to 1.3 million dry tons in the second quarter of the fiscal year ended March 2022, sliding by 10% compared to the previous quarter and also dropping by 10% from the same period a year ago.
The decrease was mainly due to the scheduled maintenance in Karnataka state and lower iron ore operations caused by the monsoon season.
During the reporting period, Vedanta’s sales of iron ore totaled 1.3 million dry tons, a quarter-on-quarter decrease of 23.5% and a year-on-year drop of 13%.
