Vale to work together with Baowu Group to develop low-carbon technologies

In order to reduce the emission of greenhouse gas during the decarburization of steelmaking, Vale, the largest supplier of iron ore, pellets, and nickel in the world, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with China Baowu Iron & Steel Group.

This MoU covers the preparation of biochar and its use in blast furnaces. According to the MoU, both parties also intended to discuss the possibility of the investment in the biochar plant project that was initiated by Baowu Group, and the investment amount was about RMB 60 million to RMB 70 million.
