According to statistics from Brazil iron ore and base metals association Sinferbase, Vale S.A. (Vale), a Brazilian multinational corporation engaged in metals and mining, exported around 24.22 million tons of iron ore in October, falling by 8.1% compared to the previous month and also dropping by 8.2% from the same month a year ago.
In the first ten months of this year, the exports amounted to approximately 228.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.1%.
In terms of sales, Vale’s domestic iron ore sales volume was down by 4.8% month on month and up by 17.3% year on year to 1.56 million tons. The domestic sales in the January-October period reached 14.85 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 21%.
