Tata Steel has established an iron ore processing plant with an annual production capacity of 8 million tons at its Captive Khondbond Iron & Manganese Mine (KIMM) near Joda in Keonjhar district of Odisha.
This processing plant includes three-stage crushing and screening. A rainwater collection reservoir was also established in the plant to store and reuse rainwater runoff from hill slopes. The usage of recycled could minimize the requirement of makeup water for the plant operation.
This iron ore processing plant will meet Tata Steel’s rapidly growing demand for raw materials and secure the supply of raw materials.
