Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), a steel and energy company in India, reported that its steel production totaled 674,000 tons in November, growing by 10% compared to the same period a year ago. The sales volume of steel dropped by 5% year on year to nearly 540,000 tons.

Due to the weak domestic demand, JSPL’s steel production hiked by 8% while sales slide by 9%, both month on month. The reduction in JSPL’s November sales was mainly owing to the decreased steel demand for railway transportation.

V.R. Sharma, JSPL's managing director, said that the company is preparing to achieve its goal of annual steel production at 8-8.2 million tons.
