Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK), one of the world's largest steel producers in Russia, stated that it aimed to reach an annual production capacity of 2-2.2 million tons of steel at its Turkey’s mill, MMK Metallurgy.
MMK Metallurgy’s production is increasing every month. This Turkish mill’s goal is to produce 100,000 tons of steel in December and to reach full capacity by the end of the year, producing 1.7 million tons of steel totally by the end of 2022.
As for electrometallurgical production, MMK Metallurgy is a green asset, which will bring more advantages to the company in the next 10-20 years.
MMK Metallurgy ceased production in 2012 due to economic issues, and the electric arc furnace at this mill was commissioned in July 2021.
