According to the data from the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM), Peru produced 998,500 tons of iron ore in November 2021, decreasing by 16.8% compared to the previous month and also sliding by 15.8% from the same month a year ago.
Among the production in November 2021, Shougang Hierro Perú, the largest domestic iron ore producer, accounted for 98.3% of Peru’s total iron ore output during the period.
In the first 11 months of 2021, the country’s iron ore production amounted to approximately 11.4 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 44%.
