According to statistics from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), global crude steel output amounted to around 1.95 billion tons in 2021, growing by 3.7% compared to the previous year.
Among them, China’s output ranked first with roughly 1.03 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3%, accounting for 52.95% of the global total crude steel output. India ranked second, totaling 118.1 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 17.8%. Japan was in the third position, producing 96.3 million tons of crude steel in 2021, up by 15.8% year on year.
