BHP Billiton set its iron ore production targets at 278-288 million tons for the fiscal year 2022 (from July 2021 to June 2022), the same as its previous forecast.

Due to the expected improved demand, Rio Tinto aimed to produce 320-335 million tons of iron ore at its mines in the Pilbara region of Western Australia this year.

As for Vale, after taking seasonal effects such as rainfall into account, the company maintained its iron ore production target at 320-335 million tons.

Heavy rainfall impacted around 1.5 million tons of iron ore production and third-party purchases due to production suspension in the state of Minas Gerais. After heavy rains, the mining operations and rails and road transportation have been gradually resumed, and Vale restarted some mining areas and even increased production.
