According to the mining survey
data released by the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the US’ output of
iron ore amounted to 37 million tons in 2020, sliding by 2.1% compared to 2019.
During the same reporting period, the shipment of US’ iron ore was 34 million
tons, a year-on-year decrease of 27.7%; the export volume was 10 million tons,
a year-on-year reduction of 12.3%; the apparent consumption was 33 million
tons, dropping by 15.6% from 2019.
