Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas
reported this Monday that its total production of steel products accumulated in
the period from January 1 to March 20 of this year was around 1.11 million
tons. This number was 19% higher than the daily average for the first quarter
of last year, 13% higher than the daily average of the last quarter of last
year, and 39% higher than the daily average of 2020.
In addition, the company reported that the total sales volume in the same
period was roughly 1.08 million tons. This was 18% more than the daily average
for the first quarter of last year, 10% more than the daily average for the
last quarter of last year, and 34% above the daily average for 2020.
According to the company's statement, the company shipped 75,000 tons of steel
products, representing 7% of the total volume sold this year 2021 until March
20.
