Canada & EU agree on new partnership of raw materials to reduce dependence on China
Canada and the EU have launched a new
partnership to ensure the supply chain of raw materials, reduce dependence on
China, create job opportunities, and counter climate change.
Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, said that Canada discussed with the EU
what actions shall they take to build a cleaner economy in the coming years.
Firstly, in order to create green jobs for the middle class, they must secure
the supply chain for raw materials and metals, said Trudeau.
In the joint statement, Canada and the EU said the partnership will be aimed at
the safety and sustainability of trade and investment, integration of raw
materials, cooperation of innovative technology, as well as environmental,
social, and governance.
