After the EU introduced carbon border tariffs, the US Senator also gave a proposal of legislation to impose a fee on imported carbon-intensive goods, including steel and aluminum. This legislation of the Border Carbon Adjustment (BCA) will be applied to polluting imports.
According to a statement for the legislation, imposing a fee on carbon-intensive products when they reach the border will offer a fair field for the domestic manufacturers.
Besides, the initiation will also encourage investment in cleaner technologies and undertake costs of US laws of greenhouse gas emissions.
