National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), an Indian state-owned mining company, reported that its iron ore output reached 15.02 million tons in the second quarter of this year, increasing by 44% compared to the same period a year ago. The sales volume of iron ore during the period totaled around 15.7 million tons, a year-on-year hike of 45.1%.
In August, NMDC’s iron ore output was 3.06 million tons, 88.9% higher than the output in August 2020. The sales volume amounted to around 2.9 million tons in August, up by 62.6% year on year.
