UK’s TRA to reconsider recommendation of safeguard measure transition review on steel products
On September 7, the UK Trade Remedies Authority (TRA) initiated a reconsideration of its recommendation to the Secretary of State for International Trade regarding the transition review of the UK’s safeguard measure on steel products, following eight submissions from the UK and overseas industry.
In June 2021, the TRA suggested extending the UK’s steel safeguard measure on ten product categories for three years and revoking the measure on nine product categories.
After completing the reconsideration process, the TRA will make a decision to reconsider whether to continue or change its recommendation and then notify the Secretary of State for International Trade.
The reconsideration review was expected to take several months to finalize.
