Turkish steel manufacturer Kardemir Haddecilik planned to raise the production capacity of its smelting plant and rolling mill. After the expansion is completed, the product range and export volume were expected to increase.

If obtaining the approval of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Kardemir Haddecilik aimed to raise the capacity of the new smelting plant from the previously planned 500,000 tons/year to 1.5 million tons/year, and the rolling mill’s capacity will be raised from the planned 230,000 tons/year to 600,000 tons/year.

The expansion project was scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2022.
