According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s cold-rolled coil (CRC) imports amounted to around 667,900 tons in the first ten months of this year, hiking by 8.6% compared to the same period a year ago. The import value totaled around US$616 million, a year-on-year increase of 94%.
Among them, the top three import sources were Russia (around 263,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 29.1%), China (around 228,300 tons, a year-on-year surge of 555.4%), and South Korea (around 74,000 tons, a year-on-year hike of 46.5%).
In October alone, Turkey’s CRC imports reached approximately 55,600 tons, dropping by 35.3% month on month while growing by 43% year on year. The import value was around US$64 million, down by 30% from September and soaring by 214% from last October.
