Wei Huachun, a villager in Xiadu Village, Hechi Town, Jinchengjiang District, Hechi City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, stood at the door of his house, looking at the newly installed 6-meter-high pole LED solar street lights, with a smile on his face. Recently, with the arrival of the last batch of light poles at the construction site, this livelihood project covering 10 villages in the village and benefiting more than 1,200 people has entered the sprint stage. It is expected that the village will be fully covered by street lights by the end of June, and the history of "traveling in the dark" will be completely bid farewell.

Xiadu Village is located in a mountainous area. There are 14 villages in the village. Some villages previously had insufficient lighting at night, which brought inconvenience to villagers' travel and production and life. The Xiadu Village Resident Working Team and the "Two Committees" of Xiadu Village visited and investigated each village. After understanding the villagers' wish to install street lights on the main roads of the village, they actively sought rural revitalization subsidies from their superiors to promote the human settlement environment improvement project. The total investment of the project is 486,000 yuan, and a total of 162 street lights cover 10 villages in the village. As of May 20, the project has completed 60% of the total project volume. It is expected that after completion, the village will be fully covered by street lights, ushering in a bright and safe travel environment at night.

Wei Minghao, secretary of the Party branch and director of the village committee of Xiadu Village, said: "Full coverage of street lights has been the expectation of the villagers for many years. Thanks to the support of special funds from the government. After the project is completed, the night security and traffic environment of our village will also be significantly improved."
