According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey's hot-rolled coil (HRC) exports totaled around 818,400 tons in the first five months of this year, sliding by 21.7% from the same period a year ago. The export value reached roughly US$583 million, up by 18.4% year on year.

Among them, the top three export destinations were Italy (around 253,200 tons, a year-on-year reduction of 36.1%), Spain (around 127,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25.9%), and the US (around 120,000 tons, a year-on-year surge of 1367.6%).

In May alone, Turkey's HRC exports amounted to roughly 250,800 tons, up by 35.5% month on month and also hiking by 3.6% year on year.
